Leema Acoustics – In Admiration of Music

Leema Acoustics is a new name in the Hi-Fi world, but one that is known and trusted by many in professional audio circles. With over thirty years design experience, Leema sets the standard for neutrality and integrity by adhering rigidly to one simple and perhaps rather old fashioned philosophy…"WHAT GOES IN, IS WHAT COMES OUT".....without resorting to artificial embellishment or adding colouration.

Simplicity – the concept behind Leema’s Constellation and Spectra Series.

The Spectra Series

Stream CD Payer

Incorporating many of the technical innovations pioneered in the multiple-award-winning Antila, the Stream compact disc player delivers a breathtaking performance, in a beautifully ergonomic package, at an astonishingly low price.

Sixteen 24bit / 192KHz multi-bit Delta-Sigma converters are used in Leema’s unique MD2 Active Differential Multi-DAC to produce an incredibly real and tactile musical performance with almost no noise and distortion.

The Stream is an absolute joy to use; apart from the standby button there is just one control: the L-Drive. This single rotary control intuitively performs all the usual CD functions such as open and close, play, stop, and track selection.

To further enhance operational simplicity the Stream is fully LIPS (Leema Intelligent Protocol System) compliant. LIPS allows Leema products to intelligently communicate with each other, allowing, for example, a single press of the L-Drive control to select play, switch on the amplifier and select the CD input.

The Stream effortlessly presents music with precision, power and an analogue-like delicacy within an expansive yet explicitly focused soundstage.

Pulse Integrated Amplifier

The Pulse amplifier was conceived to deliver a startling level of performance to a whole new audience. By carefully slimming and honing the design of the award winning Tucana, and by adding exciting new features, Leema have produced a new reference amplifier at less than half the cost of the Tucana.

The Pulse is easily capable of driving today’s audiophile speakers with a vice-like grip and precise control. Input selection includes a LIPS (Leema Intelligent Protocol System) configurable AV input, moving magnet and moving coil phono inputs as well as an MP3 player input. Additional features include full remote control a sophisticated volume display, and a headphone output.

LIPS enables the Pulse to automatically and intelligently configure other devices into a multi-unit home entertainment system of uncompromised audiophile quality. It is designed with families in mind. No longer will only one member of the family be able to fully use the system, resulting in more enjoyment for everyone and more return on your investment.

The Constellation Series

Sub-Woofers

SPLX10 Active Subwoofer

Leema SPLX subwoofers are ideal for stand-alone use, or as companions for Leema Xen and Xyp loudspeakers, a combination that creates a phenomenally powerful and accurate system for music, home cinema and professional AV.

The SPLX 10 features a massive two hundred and fifty watt RMS amplifier mated to a ten inch, vented coil, bass driver capable of a phenomenal 40mm of cone excursion.

The whole package is enclosed in an immensely strong sealed cabinet, formed from 25mm medite, of only eighteen litres capacity.

The unique pressure zone cabinet design allows the SPLX series to be used horizontally or vertically for maximum placement flexibility.

When an SPLX 10 is coupled with a full Xen package, the ultimate stealth micro-system is created.

Stunning musical performance is delivered with precision and depth that belie the system's tiny dimensions. Bass extension, a hallmark of all Leema systems, reaches right to the lowest octave, with fine control and articulation. System integration is exemplary.

Fully sweepable precision crossover filter and phase controls allow matching with any system, while separate speaker and low level inputs cover all connection scenarios.  The filter section may be bypassed for home cinema and AV use.

Finally, fully automatic power-up and power-down ensure maximum user convenience.

.... Hear the impossible!

X10-der Passive Subwoofer Extender

The Leema X10-der (extender) is a unique passive subwoofer option, identical in appearance to the SPLX10. Having no amplification of it's own, the X10-der is designed to be driven from an SPLX10. This combination offers the performance of a two sub system, at a reduced price.

When two subs are used, much better room drive is achieved and room modes - resonant peaks within the room - are much reduced. The result is a much smoother low frequency response and improved integration.

In addition, higher sound pressure levels are available, making the combination ideal for very large rooms.  When used for home cinema, the results are simply awesome!

Xero 2-Way Miniature

Leema Acoustics’ latest mini-monitor is called the Xero, and promises extensive improvements at no extra cost. In fact, they’re £330 cheaper than the legendary Xen.

The little Leema Xens , at just £1,000 (less one pound), provided a superb, classic mini monitor sound in the vein of the Rogers LS3/5a and Harbeth HL-K3ES.

In short, although the company is a young one, the Xero’s designers are old hands – and its shows when you plug them in.... Whereas the £999 Xen was the company’s first loudspeaker, the £670 Xero is its third, and is essentially a downsized Xen – and unusually these days, Leema has seen fit to pass on the price saving of the slightly smaller cabinets and simpler construction.

The Xen used a hybrid steel and wood cabinet with metal front baffle, whereas the Xero employs a more conventional all wood affair. It’s slightly smaller at 220x140x206mm and lighter at 10kg (still a lot for a speaker of this size). Although the Xen’s metal front baffle looked beautiful, certainly the Xero doesn’t seem any less well built and appears just as robust. Internally, there is extensive damping from a double layer of bitumastic lining.

The Xeros feature a 1-inch (25.5mm approx.) Vifa Tymphany fabric dome tweeter that uses high-flux neodymium magnets and ferro-fluid damping, plus a new bespoke 100mm magnetically screened mid-bass driver marked ‘Leema Acoustics’. The crossover uses hand-wound air-cored inductors, high quality capacitors and PCBs with thinner multi track copper, rather than a typical fatter single layer. Whereas the Xen ran two semirestrictive bass ports on the front baffle, the Xero has a single, fluted, rear mounted, free flowing 25mm affair. Just above this is a block of bi-wireable binding posts with gold plated links. The wood veneer was of excellent quality and comes in a choice of Cherry, Birds Eye Maple, Ebony or Black Ash.

Xone 2.5-Way Floor-standing Loudspeaker

With a footprint similar to that of Xen, but in a miniature floorstanding cabinet, Xone provides musical insight and precision together with superb bass timing, pitch, punch and extension, in a beautifully svelte package.

In collaboration with Seas, Leema have developed custom sheilded bass and mid-bass drivers with new fibreglass composite coil formers delivering exceptional midrange clarity.
These are employed in a two-and-a-half-way configuration. NORDOST Mono-Filament wiring is used internally and the second order crossover features Leema’s ‘Multi-track PCB’ design method developed for the Xen EVO3.

Xone continues the Leema tradition of combining unsurpassed detail, rhythm, power and holographic imaging to provide...

...music, pure and simple

Xenta Centre Speaker For Surround

Xenta is the perfect solution for multi-channel music formats such as DTS, DVD-A and SACD, but also offers state-of-the-art performance for home cinema and professional use.

Four large diameter, computer optimised ports are located on the front baffle to ensure optimum coupling with the dual bass drivers and maximum placement flexibility.

Although a true miniature design, the performance of the Leema Xenta is truly stunning. Bass response extends down to 58Hz and yet the maximum peak sound pressure level is in excess of  115dB, enough for any application!

The over specified bi-wireable crossover features custom 'Clarity Cap' capacitors and Scorpion gold binding posts.  As with Xen, Xenta is magnetically screened for use near television monitors.
